Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt—it’s kosher. No really… really?

Becoming a worldwide phenomenon, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt is known for its round store design and friendly customer service. But it’s also kosher. Unlike some other sweet treats that gain kosher accreditation just as a gimmick, for the sake of business and joining a wider pool of customers, Menchie’s frozen yogurt is just such a high quality product that it being kosher just makes sense.

Let me explain. Unless you’re making your own ice cream, there’s going to be some artificial sweeteners, preservatives, and other fun stuff—from castoreum (the anal gland of a beaver that tastes amazingly like vanilla—it’s too crazy to make up) to L-cysteine (a food flavor enhancer made from human hair, duck feathers, or, if you’re living in China, hog hair). Be glad you keep kosher is all I can say…

Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, however, is luckily nothing like that. Nope. Menchie’s uses the happy Californian cows for their milk—a great source of calcium, since it’s real milk in your frozen yogurt. It’s even awarded the live and active culture seal by the National Yogurt Association. Oh, and these cows are never treated with artificial growth hormones (rBST). Also, there’s no high fructose corn syrup. There just isn’t. Why is that corn stuff so bad? A plethora of reasons, including a chemical that tricks your brain into thinking you’re not full when you really are so you buy more, buy more, buy (burp) more…no more… please…

Not here—Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt is here to satisfy you, not trick you. You are what you eat. So eat kosher. So enjoy Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt.
