OC Mega Challah Bake 2016 brings women together to bake and bond

Unifying all Orange County Jewish Women as “One People with One Heart,” the OC Mega Challah Bake will bring together more than 1,000 women on November 10 at 7 P.M., at the Hotel Irvine, 17900 Jamboree Road, Irvine. The event is a chance to connect and celebrate with local friends and the global Jewish women’s community. Orange County will be joined by 465 cities globally to observe the mitzvah of challah in conjunction with the International Shabbos Project.

Now in its third year, the OC Mega Challah Bake has become a unifying event for women from every Jewish background. There will be an eclectic mix of women of all ages from all over Orange County who will bake, bond and empower one another in an event that belongs to every woman.

This year’s event will include an opportunity to buy snacks, beverages and cocktails before the challah baking, during on-site check-in, starting at 5:30 P.M. The Hotel Irvine offers excellent lighting and acoustics, and an instructional video will help participants to bake the challah.

Shana Segall of Irvine, one of the event organizers described the OC Mega Challah Bake as “a grassroots consortium of Jewish women, representing every denomination and organization of Judaism, as well as the unaffiliated.”

The cost is $18 per person. To register for OC Mega Challah Bake, visit For more information, contact or call (949) 385-1551.
